This intimate concert at the Philharmonie de Paris brings together an exceptional ensemble of musicians for an evening of major chamber works. Pianist Alexandre Tharaud joins the Quatuor Arod, one of today's most sought-after string quartets, and Canadian violinist Kerson Leong, winner of the Yehudi Menuhin Competition.

The program opens with Beethoven's String Quartet No. 4, a work that famously exasperated the composer despite its warm reception. French music follows with Debussy's fantastical Violin Sonata and Ravel's dazzlingly virtuosic Tzigane. The evening culminates in Franck's monumental Piano Quintet, a dramatic and expressive piece that divided opinion but won Debussy's praise as "real music."
