The Otters Open Water Races take place in Marsalforn Bay, on Gozo's north coast, on Sunday 6 September 2026, run by Otters Aquatic Sports Club, the island's water-polo and swimming club, based in Marsalforn since 1971. The races are part of the club's wider Otters Fest programme.
Races are usually split into several distances rather than one course — typically 500m, 1km, 2km and 4km heats through the morning — open to swimmers of varying ability rather than elite athletes only.
Spectators can watch from the bay promenade at no cost, making it an easy add-on for anyone staying on Gozo's north coast that weekend.
