Visitas à Galeria Subterrânea do Loreto

Descend into one of Lisbon's oldest underground galleries, part of the Águas Livres Aqueduct system. Built from 1746, this gallery began just before the Arco das Amoreiras and supplied the fountains of São Pedro de Alcântara and Loreto, ending at Largo in front of the Teatro de São Carlos. Its branches fed fountains, factories, convents, and noble houses.

Guided tours start at the meeting point on Rua das Amoreiras and conclude at the Reservatório da Patriarcal in Praça do Príncipe Real. Visitors should wear closed, comfortable shoes; the experience is not recommended for those with claustrophobia or children under six. It's a unique chance to explore a hidden piece of Lisbon's water heritage.
