Weronika Anna Rosa: Awakening

Awakening is an installation that merges art, science, and memory, exploring humanity's deep connection to the plant world and its fragility. Using historical herbariums, field research, and data from the Red List of Threatened Species, artist Weronika Anna Rosa transforms endangered plants into monumental silhouettes, enlarged beyond human scale.

The suspended plant figures in the lobby and main atrium of Tivoli Avenida Liberdade become almost chimeric presences—delicate yet imposing—inviting renewed attention to what often goes unnoticed. More than a meditation on loss, Awakening celebrates life in all its forms, praising the persistence and resilience of living beings.

Through observing, drawing, and painting these plants, the artist practices an act of care: documenting, remembering, and transmitting. The fabric canvases turn the hotel space into a sensory intersection, where visitors are enveloped by a garden of shadows and colors, between the memory of an herbarium and the physical experience of walking among architecturally scaled plants.
