The Timișoara Christmas Market is the city's main winter event, now in its 19th edition. It spreads wooden stalls, lights, an ice rink and family attractions across five squares in the historic center rather than a single site, so visitors move between zones over an evening rather than staying in one spot.

Dates and opening hours. The 2026 edition runs from 29 November 2026 to 7 January 2027, according to the municipality and the Culture House of Timișoara Municipality (Casa de Cultură a Municipiului Timișoara, CCMT), which organizes the market.

Official 2026 opening hours had not been published as of late September 2026; in recent editions the market has operated roughly 11:00-22:00 daily. Treat that window as a previous-edition reference rather than a confirmed 2026 schedule, and check CCMT's channels closer to the opening date.

Where it is. The market spans Piața Victoriei, Piața Libertății, Piața Sfântul Gheorghe, Piața Unirii and Parcul Central. Each square carries a different mix of stalls and decorations, with Piața Victoriei traditionally the largest and busiest zone and Parcul Central hosting rides. Vendor and operator registration for 2026 opened on 28 September 2026, with a deadline of 11 October 2026, which is why detailed stall and programme listings were still incomplete at the time of writing.

What to eat and buy.
