Ghalia Volt at The Nick Friday September 4th Doors 8pm

Blues-rock guitarist JD Simo and Belgian-born singer-guitarist Ghalia Volt team up for a night at The Nick, a private club in Birmingham. Volt, now rooted in the American South, mixes Hill Country blues with the raw energy of rock and roll, performing with her trio or as a one-woman band. Simo, a Nashville-based guitarist, singer-songwriter and producer, brings years of session and solo work to the stage, including his time with the psychedelic rock band SIMO and a string of solo albums.

The pair’s chemistry is already on record — Simo produced Volt’s album Burn the House Down, recorded live in Nashville. Their live show pairs gritty guitar work with a swampy rhythm, with songs built for the stage. Expect a loud, sweat-soaked set of juke-joint ravers, hill country blues and late-night rock & roll.

As a private club, The Nick requires membership and a valid ID for entry, keeping the focus on the music.
