When is Moonwalk Protaras 2027? Not yet announced: as of 2 October 2026 the organisers, Paralimni Youth, have not published 2027 dates on moonwalk.com.cy. The five editions from 2022 to 2026 were each held on one evening between 31 August and 27 September, timed to the moon, so an evening in September around the full moon (02:04 Cyprus time on 16 September in 2027) is the window to watch. That is a pattern, not a confirmed date.

Where and what: a free 6 km music walk along the Pernera–Protaras seafront on the south-east coast of Cyprus, from the chapel of Agios Nikolaos in Pernera to the bay just past Fig Tree Bay. The 2026 edition had 130+ artists on 30+ stages. Admission is free, so there are no tickets to buy.
Getting there and tips: Larnaca Airport is the usual arrival point, about an hour by road from Protaras, and you can join the walk at either end. The route runs one way, so decide how you will get back before you set off. Until the date is out, keep hotel bookings in Protaras or Ayia Napa cancellable.
When is Moonwalk Protaras 2027?
The date moves every year, and so does the weekday: Saturday, Thursday, Friday, Sunday, Sunday. What stays constant is the moon. The 2022 and 2023 previews gave the time the full moon rises, the 2024 edition was built around moonrise, 2025 coincided with a full moon and a total lunar eclipse, and the organiser calls 2026 the last full moon of the summer period.
The September 2027 full moon is at 02:04 Cyprus time on 16 September (23:04 UTC on 15 September), so the evenings of 15 and 16 September are the full-moon nights. If the organisers keep to the same logic, mid-September is the likeliest window, but they have not said so. Do not book non-refundable travel for a specific night until moonwalk.com.cy or Paralimni Youth announces the date.

Where is Moonwalk Protaras and what is the route?
Moonwalk is held on the seafront promenade of Pernera and Protaras, in the Paralimni–Protaras area of south-east Cyprus. The organiser describes a 6 km walk that starts at the chapel of Agios Nikolaos in Pernera and ends at the bay after Fig Tree Bay. The Municipality’s 2025 listing says visitors can start either at the Agios Nikolaos chapel or at Nausicaa Bay by Fig Tree Bay.
The music stages are numbered along the route (31 in 2026), and for 2026 the organiser published an interactive route map and a stage-by-stage list on moonwalk.com.cy. The 2026 route also had food vendors, cocktail bars and info kiosks with water and refreshments, and the Cyprus Astronomy Organisation offered telescopes for looking at the moon.
Is Moonwalk Protaras free? Do you need tickets?
Yes. The organiser’s site states free admission for everyone, and the Municipality’s 2025 listing says the same. There is no ticket to buy and, as far as the organiser’s site shows, no registration. Because entry is free, treat any page that sells “Moonwalk tickets” with suspicion and check moonwalk.com.cy first.
Getting there and parking
- By air: Larnaca International Airport is the usual arrival airport for Protaras, roughly an hour away by road.
- On foot: if you are staying in Protaras or Pernera you can join the promenade from your hotel. The two ends are the Agios Nikolaos chapel (Pernera) and the bay just past Fig Tree Bay (Protaras).
- Parking: a 2022 preview in Famagusta News pointed to free municipal parking along the promenade and a large car park between Protaras Street and the Protaras–Cabo Greco boulevard. Arrangements can change, and the organiser pages we checked do not publish shuttle or road-closure details, so look for the 2027 arrangements on moonwalk.com.cy and the organiser’s social media.
- Coming back: the walk is 6 km from one end to the other, so pick your finishing end and your way back (walking, taxi or a lift) before you start.
Tips for Moonwalk Protaras
- Arrive in the early evening: recent editions started around 20:00 and ran about three hours, and the stages are spread along 6 km, so you cannot see them all.
- Wear comfortable shoes: this is a long walk, not a seated concert.
- Use the organiser’s map and stage list to pick the acts you want, then walk the route towards them.
- Expect crowds: organisers expected more than 15,000 visitors in 2025, and the press reported more than 15,000 in 2026.
- Keep hotels in Protaras and Ayia Napa cancellable until the date is announced, and see what else is on nearby in our Cyprus events calendar.
Moonwalk 2026 for reference: the Sunset Edition
The 2026 edition, called the Sunset Edition, was held on Sunday 27 September 2026 along the 6 km route from Pernera to Fig Tree Bay. Paralimni Youth organised it, with the Paralimni–Deryneia Municipality as co-organiser. The organiser listed 130+ artists and 30+ music stages, Cypriot press reported more than 15,000 visitors, and admission was free.
Editions have carried their own names (Eclipse Edition in 2025, Sunset Edition in 2026), so expect a new theme for 2027.
