Der zerbrochene Krug - Komödie von Heinrich von Kleist, Frankfurt

Der zerbrochene Krug - Komödie von Heinrich von Kleist is staged by Die Katakombe at Kulturhaus Frankfurt in Frankfurt on 3 November 2026, 19:00. The play is set in the village of Huisum on a court day. Village judge Adam explains his injuries with a fall out of bed, which is the first of many lies he tells.

The real cause is an incident the night before, when Eve's fiancé Ruprecht surprised him in her room and he fled through the window. A jug, the silent witness, lay broken. Eve's mother Marthe takes the matter to court and accuses Ruprecht.

Adam opens the trial, determined to hide his own guilt and have an innocent man convicted. The production treats themes such as abuse of power, violation of privacy and arrogance of power. Tickets start at EUR 25.40, and a discount is available.
