Club de Lectura: Lectores de Oficio

This book club, run by library users and open to anyone keen to discover contemporary authors and works, meets monthly in the attic of the Iván de Vargas Municipal Public Library in Madrid's Palacio district. Each session is a chance to talk about literature from diverse, enriching perspectives, with a universal theme tying the readings together.

The programme spans four titles, from José Manuel Díaz García's 'Ser los otros' to Jesús Carrasco's 'Intemperie', with Julio Llamazares and Soledad Puértolas in between. The library doesn't provide the books, so attendees bring their own copies. Entry is free until the room reaches capacity, making it an easy, low-commitment way to join a literary community in the heart of the city.
