Coupe du monde de danse électro de LRC – Life’s Round Contest

For the fourth consecutive year, the world championship of electro dance returns to Paris, celebrating a dance born in France since the French cancan. Over two days, the event features intense battles, performances, workshops, and shows that showcase the ever-renewed energy of this community.

Electro dance emerged in the early 2000s in various nightlife spots around Île-de-France and burst into the mainstream during the 2007 Techno Parade. It is a dynamic, ethical, and authentic dance style that moves in sync with electronic beats. Since 2007, fueled by online videos, it has gained followers worldwide. Choreographer Blanca Li gave it stage legitimacy with pieces like *Elektro Kif* (2010) and *Elektrik* (2017), while the young and creative company MazelFreten contributed significantly with *Rave Lucid* (2022).

Launched in 2013, the Life’s Round Contest (LRC) has amplified the recognition of electro dance. The initiative comes from the association LRC Officiel, founded by Jimmy Medina (aka Milliard), a virtuoso and activist who himself has been world champion multiple times. The event takes place at Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse, offering a full day of dance and celebration for audiences aged 8 and up.
