Gaillimh Ah-Boo! 2026

Gaillimh Ah-Boo! 2026 is a city-wide Halloween celebration in Galway City, Galway, running from 17 October to 1 November 2026. Galway City Council presents it as an expanded return of the festival, reclaiming the ancient Celtic origins of Samhain. The programme includes the Macnas Parade on Sunday, 25 October 2026, which is free. Macnas marks its 40th anniversary with a new procession called Fiáin (fee-awn), meaning "wild". Time by Luxmuralis, an immersive light and sound installation, runs at St. Nicholas Collegiate Church from 23 to 31 October, daily from 18:30. The Samhain Community Dance Spectacle - A Thriller in Eyre Square takes place at Eyre Square on 26 October at 18:00. It is presented by the Genevieve Ryan Dance Academy and Galway City Council Night-Time Economy. A Gathering of Souls follows on the streets of Galway on Sunday, 1 November at 18:00. The festival partners include Macnas, the Galway Comedy Festival, Baboró Children's Festival and Galway City's Night-Time Economy programme.
