Belgrade Beer Fest — the flagship

Belgrade Beer Fest is one of the largest festivals in Southeastern Europe, held at Ušće Park at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers in New Belgrade. It started at Kalemegdan Fortress in 2003 and moved to Ušće in 2008, running for roughly five days every August and drawing crowds in the hundreds of thousands.

The 22nd edition runs 28–31 August 2026 at Ušće Park, across a Main Stage and an Electro Stage that mix Balkan rock legends with international headliners and electronic acts. The 2026 bill is led by Bijelo dugme — a 50th-anniversary show and their first major Belgrade concert in twenty years — alongside Riblja čorba. Serbian coverage headlines the format as 'stari datum, novi koncept' (old date, new concept): for 2026 it is a straightforward paid ticket that includes unlimited beer, rather than the older split of free park access before the evening and paid entry after. Note that the festival's own ENGLISH site still showed the 2025 edition well into July 2026 — the Serbian-language press had the real dates first, which is why most English travel calendars still disagree with each other.

Oktoberfest and its licensed regional spin-offs

Oktoberfest Brașov 2026 runs 27 August – 6 September on Strada Turnului next to Parcul Tractorul in Brașov, Romania — its 16th edition and, notably, organised under an official licence from Munich City Hall, which holds the Oktoberfest trademark. Oktoberfest Budapest 2026 is a multi-venue, multi-weekend event (27–29 September, 4–6 October and 10–13 October) spread across Erzsébet Square, Margaret Island, Buda Castle’s Savoyai Terrace and City Park — free entry everywhere except City Park, which charges a daily admission of roughly 7,000–8,000 HUF.

Mediterranean beer festivals

The Mediterranean beer-festival scene runs earlier in the summer and doubles as a live-music circuit. Pafos Beer Festival 2026 runs 5–9 August at Paphos Old Harbour, Cyprus — evening sessions with a token-based bar system, right on the waterfront below the medieval Paphos Castle. MEDFEST, Limassol’s beer festival, ran 24–28 June 2026 at Linopetra High School Stadium with a headline-heavy nightly concert bill; its 2027 dates have not been announced yet. The Farsons Beer Festival in Malta runs 23 July – 1 August 2026 across ten evenings at the working Farsons Brewery in Birkirkara — the only one on this list staged inside an operating brewery.

The Great British Beer Festival, run by CAMRA (the Campaign for Real Ale), is the UK’s biggest dedicated beer festival. It moved from London’s Olympia to the NEC in Birmingham, and the 2025 edition ran 5–9 August with day tickets around £9.50–£16; 2026 dates had not been announced as of this writing — check the official CAMRA event page nearer the time.

The Wrocław Good Beer Festival (Wrocławski Festiwal Dobrego Piwa) is Poland’s largest beer festival, held at the Tarczyński Arena in Wrocław with free entry; its 16th edition ran 19–21 June 2026. Good to know before you go

• Most European beer festivals are effectively 18+ after early evening, even when daytime/family sessions exist — check the specific festival’s policy.
• Munich-style Oktoberfests (Munich, Brașov, Budapest) charge nothing to enter the grounds — you only pay for beer, food and rides. Mediterranean and Balkan beer festivals (MEDFEST, Pafos, Belgrade) more often sell a ticket or token system at the gate.
