Gerry Gibbs, a drummer with a storied career and multiple Grammy nominations, assembles a dream quintet for a series of performances at Birdland Jazz Club. The lineup includes NEA Jazz Masters Gary Bartz on alto saxophone and Randy Brecker on trumpet, alongside bassist Buster Williams and pianist Cyrus Chestnut—each a titan of jazz. Their collective experience spans collaborations with Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, and many more.
Over the course of several nights, the quintet explores both classic and contemporary jazz repertoire, drawing on the deep well of experience these musicians bring.
