Brasinola at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro

Brasinola brings the sounds of Brazil's Tropicália movement to New Orleans with a distinctly local twist. The band blends samba, funk, folk, and psychedelia from the late 1960s and 1970s, grounding it all in the rhythm of the city. As bassist and co-founder Ron Johnson puts it, "the NOLA in our name is the foot of the New Orleans drummer." Expect a lively mix of Brazilian music with a second-line pulse, performed by a lineup that includes Danny Abel on guitar, Eduardo Tozzato on piano and vocals, Fernando Lima on percussion, Sam Albright on bass, and Eric Bolivar on drums.

This performance is part of Snug Harbor's Happy Hour Concert Series, held at the intimate Jazz Bistro on Frenchmen Street. Seating is first come, first served, and tips for the band are encouraged, going 100% to the musicians. The venue's restaurant opens after the show for dinner, making it easy to extend the evening.
