Mariachazo

Attendees can expect an evening of traditional Mexican folk music performed by one of the oldest and most prestigious mariachi ensembles in the world. Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán, founded in 1896, has been instrumental in defining the mariachi genre, with a distinctive sound blending violins, trumpets, and the guitarrón. The group's current lineup of fourteen musicians continues a legacy that spans over a century.

The ensemble's journey from a small town in Jalisco to becoming the official mariachi of Mexico City's police department and starring in over 200 films is a testament to its cultural significance. Under the direction of Carlos Martínez, they carry forward the traditions established by founders Gaspar and Silvestre Vargas, dressed in their iconic charro suits.
