Syracuse Crunch vs. Utica Comets

An American Hockey League meeting brings the Syracuse Crunch and Utica Comets together in Syracuse. The Comets play in the North Division of the AHL's Eastern Conference and are affiliated with the NHL's New Jersey Devils. While Utica normally calls the Adirondack Bank Center home, this contest puts the Comets on the road.

The Comets carry a deep hockey lineage. The franchise traces back to a team originally known as the Quebec Beavers, later operating as the Springfield Indians, Syracuse Warriors, Springfield Kings, Worcester IceCats and Peoria Rivermen before arriving in Utica. The Comets nickname pays tribute to earlier Mohawk Valley teams, especially the Clinton and Mohawk Valley Comets, which called the Memorial Auditorium home.
