Big Country
Big Country is a Scottish rock band from Dunfermline, Fife, formed in 1981 by Stuart Adamson, formerly of the Skids, along with Bruce Watson, Tony Butler and Mark Brzezicki. The band became known for a guitar technique that mimicked the sound of bagpipes, giving rise to a distinctive style often labelled Celtic rock.

Über Big Country
Their debut album The Crossing (1983) reached number three on the UK chart and produced the band's only US Top 40 hit. Steeltown (1984) went to number one in the UK, and The Seer (1986), which featured backing vocals from Kate Bush on its title track, reached number two and included the Irish number-one single 'Look Away.' The band performed on Saturday Night Live and at the Grammy Awards during this period.
Stuart Adamson died in December 2001, after which the classic lineup disbanded. Surviving members reunited in 2007 with new vocalists rotating through the group, including Mike Peters of the Alarm and, later, Simple Minds bassist Derek Forbes.
The band released The Journey in 2013, its first studio album in fourteen years, and continues to perform and record with Bruce Watson as the sole original member, joined by his son Jamie Watson and other musicians.
