Jazz Emu is the stage persona of English comedian, musician and writer Archie Henderson, born 1994 in London. Henderson began performing comedy at Cambridge University in 2015 as a member of the Footlights, and in 2016 co-founded the musical comedy trio Two Plus Ones, which won Best Newcomers at the 2017 Musical Comedy Awards.

Über Jazz Emu

As Jazz Emu, Henderson plays an absurdist, self-styled "global sensation" and "sex therapist" modelled on a 1970s lothario, performing in bell-bottoms, platform shoes and aviator glasses with a deliberately smooth, over-enunciated delivery. His comedy songs and sketches, posted to YouTube, drew wide attention during the COVID-19 lockdowns, when his track "How to Socialise" was played on BBC Radio 1.

His stage shows include You Shouldn't Have (2022), a sold-out Edinburgh Fringe run examining his relationship with his father, and Knight Fever (2024-2025), a synth-pop-styled show about artistic ambition. He has won Chortle Awards for Best Social Media and Best Variety or Character Act, and in 2023 the Daily Telegraph ranked him 26th on its list of the 50 funniest comedians of the 21st century.

His YouTube channels have drawn more than 470,000 subscribers and close to 100 million views combined. In 2026 he released Jazz Emu Sings: The Inimitable Sound of Archie Henderson, his first largely non-comedic musical record.
