The Dear Hunter
The Dear Hunter is an American progressive rock band from Providence, Rhode Island, formed by singer, guitarist, and multi-instrumentalist Casey Crescenzo in 2005 as a side project before becoming his primary focus the following year. Crescenzo had been writing more material than fit within his other band, the Receiving End of Sirens, and used the new project to pursue longer-form, narrative-driven records. The current lineup includes his brother Nick Crescenzo on drums, alongside Maxwell Tousseau, Robert Parr, and Nick Sollecito.

Über The Dear Hunter
The band built its reputation on The Acts, a six-part concept album series released between 2006 and 2016 that follows a single narrative across the records, alongside standalone releases such as The Color Spectrum (2011) and Migrant (2013). Act IV: Rebirth in Reprise and Act V: Hymns with the Devil in Confessional both charted on the Billboard 200, reaching numbers 39 and 48 respectively.
Musically, the band moves between indie rock, art rock, symphonic rock, and baroque pop, often incorporating orchestral arrangements and extended instrumental passages within otherwise song-based structures. More recent albums, including Antimai (2022) and Sunya (2026), have continued the group's pattern of pairing dense arrangements with serialized storytelling, and the band has also experimented with alternate-reality-game elements tied to its releases.
