Über Toronto Maple Leafs
The Leafs have won 13 Stanley Cup championships, the second-most of any NHL franchise, with titles spanning 1918 to 1967, including two dynasty runs: five championships between 1946 and 1951, and four between 1962 and 1967. The team has not won the Stanley Cup since 1967, the longest active championship drought in the league.
The franchise was one of the NHL's "Original Six" teams and has featured players such as Syl Apps, Ted Kennedy and Johnny Bower. Notable moments in its history include a reverse-sweep comeback in the 1942 Stanley Cup Final against Detroit and the aftermath of defenceman Bill Barilko's disappearance in 1951, a loss followed by an 11-year Cup drought later nicknamed the "Barilko Curse."
The Leafs played at Maple Leaf Gardens from 1931 until 1999, when they moved to their current home, Scotiabank Arena (originally Air Canada Centre), in downtown Toronto.
