For the centenary of F.W. Murnau's silent masterpiece *L’Aurore* (*Sunrise*), the Philharmonie de Paris presents a special screening with live musical accompaniment by acclaimed pianist Alexandre Tharaud. Regularly cited among the greatest films ever made, *Sunrise* is a technical and narrative tour de force that pioneered fluid camera movements and was one of the first feature-length films with a synchronized soundtrack.
Tharaud, who counts the film among his personal classics, returns to a passion from his youth: accompanying silent cinema. His live piano score will underscore Murnau's universal fable of love, subtitled *A Song of Two Humans*. The evening offers a rare chance to experience this cinematic landmark in a concert hall setting, with the music woven live into the film's emotional fabric.
