The eleven-piece act played traditional dance tunes, folk songs and shanties, with a percussion section and a four-piece brass section. Its members played more than 20 instruments between them, and all performers sang. Burlesque was the band's first full-length album, released in 2006.

It featured material from the Napoleonic Wars, the American minstrel movement and sea-shanties from Brazil. The band toured in November 2024 to mark 20 years since its formation.
