Salma Mousfi performs the songs she and Ziad Rahbani made together at Jazz Cafe in London, with a band led by musical director Ryan Naccour.
Salma Mousfi was 18 and singing Madonna covers in Beirut when Ziad Rahbani first heard her in 1986. He brought her into his studio, and the partnership that followed produced Monodose, their 2001 album of bossa-tinged oriental jazz. The two last appeared on the same stage at Jazz Cafe in 2019, for Ziad's first London show in more than 25 years and as part of his final European tour.
After his death in 2025, Salma comes back to perform the songs they made together, with a band led by musical director Ryan Naccour, alongside Ziad's fusions of Arabic melody with jazz and funk. Salma Mousfi said: "Legacy isn't a playlist, it's a stage, it's breath, it's interpretation. "
