City guide
Los Angeles
Los Angeles is less one city than a sprawl of very different ones stitched together by freeways: surf-and-skate Venice, glossy Beverly Hills, film-industry Hollywood, and the taco trucks and murals of Boyle Heights all sit within the same county. The pace is unhurried and outdoor-oriented, built around hiking trails, beach sunsets and patio dining, but it only really works if you accept long drives between the good bits.
