Syracuse Crunch hockey is a professional American Hockey League experience at Upstate Medical University Arena, where the home team takes on the Hamilton Hammers. As the AHL affiliate of the NHL's Tampa Bay Lightning, the Crunch bring a professional game to Central New York.

The franchise relocated from Hamilton, Ontario, and kept its name after a public vote. It has since built a loyal following, once leading the league in sellouts in back-to-back seasons, and has produced division titles and a rare goalie goal on the ice.
