Σχετικά με José Luis Gómez
After only a few months of formal conducting study, Gómez won first prize at the International Sir Georg Solti Conductor's Competition in Frankfurt in 2010, a decision reached unanimously by the jury. The Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra subsequently created an assistant conductor position for him under Paavo Järvi, and he served as principal conductor of Orchestra 1813 at Teatro Sociale di Como from 2012 to 2015.
In 2016 he was named music director of the Tucson Symphony Orchestra, a post he continues to hold. His repertoire spans core symphonic works by Beethoven, Schumann, Schubert, Bruckner and Mahler alongside underrepresented composers from the Americas such as William Grant Still and Florence Price. He is also active in opera, having conducted Mozart's Le Nozze di Figaro and Don Giovanni, Puccini's La Bohème, Rossini's La Cenerentola and Verdi's La Forza del Destino.
Gómez appears regularly with orchestras across North America and Europe, commissions new works from composers including Raven Chacón and Jennifer Higdon, and has collaborated with soloists such as Yo-Yo Ma and Itzhak Perlman.
