Los Vivancos Live: Spanish Dance & Music Show in Cyprus
Strovolos Municipal Theatre · Nicosia
Free talk by Dr Anna Reeve at CAARI in Nicosia on 5 November 2026, 19:00 to 21:00, on Cypriot antiquities in British museums.
Ancient Cyprus in UK museums – unexpected journeys, untold stories takes place at CAARI in Nicosia on 5 November 2026, from 19:00 to 21:00. Admission is free. Dr Anna Reeve, Research Fellow at the Institute of Classical Studies, School of Advanced Study, University of London, is the speaker.
The event looks at how the material legacies of excavation and collecting in Cyprus can be seen in many British museums today. British travellers, diplomats, colonial officials, guests and temporary residents brought antiquities home from Cyprus. In the UK, networks of scholars, collectors, institutions, dealers and artists drew in and circulated these objects, which often ended up in local museums.
The talk follows the ways ancient objects travelled from Cyprus to the UK and moved through private collections and the marketplace, to shed new light on today's museum collections. CAARI is at Andrea Dimitriou 11, Nicosia.
It runs from 19:00 to 21:00 on 5 November 2026.
