What a night at the festival is like

The setting does most of the work. The festival occupies the open square at the end of the Kato Paphos harbour front, with the 13th-century castle lit up on one side and the sea on the other. Beer stands and long tables run across the square; the harbour promenade and its restaurants continue right up to the edge of the site.

Doors are at 18:00, which in early August is still full daylight and comfortably warm — sunset falls around 19:45, and the square is at its best in the hour either side of it. Things fill out properly after about 21:00, when the evening’s band or DJ set is underway.

• Entry is free, so you only pay for what you eat and drink — bring less cash than a ticketed festival would need.
• The early hours, roughly 18:00–20:00, are the calmest and are when the children’s area is most useful.
• Friday and Saturday are the two busiest nights of the five. Wednesday and Sunday are the easiest if you want a table.
• Dress is casual summer wear. The square is open to the sea, so it cools noticeably once the sun is down.
• The harbour front is a flat, easy walk from the castle end to the restaurants at the far end — no hills, no steps.

The beer: 150+ labels from Cyprus and abroad

The organiser advertises more than 150 different types and labels of beer, spanning Cypriot brewers and imported European and international names. It is a broad, mainstream-to-craft range rather than a specialist craft-only festival — closer to a beer fair than a tap takeover.

The full stand-by-stand list is not published in advance, and it changes between editions. Treat any brewery line-up you find on an aggregator site — including lists carried over from previous years — as unverified until the organiser posts it. If a specific beer is the reason you are going, check the festival’s own channels in the days before.

Getting to the harbour, and parking

The festival site is at the western end of the Kato Paphos harbour front, directly below the castle. From Paphos town centre (Ktima) it is a short taxi ride downhill; from Paphos International Airport allow roughly 20 minutes by car or taxi. From Limassol it is about an hour’s drive, which makes the festival a realistic evening trip combined with dinner on the harbour.

Parking on the harbour front itself is very limited and is the wrong thing to plan around. The large public car park at the Kato Paphos archaeological site is the nearest substantial option and is a few minutes’ walk along the seafront from the castle. On the busier nights a taxi or a drop-off is simply less trouble than looking for a space.
