D/TROIT - European Tour 2027 in Leipzig

The organiser is MAWI Concert GmbH, Karl-Tauchnitz-Str. 4, 04107 Leipzig, Deutschland. D/troit is a group of five white guys from Copenhagen.

Since 2013, Toke, Klaus, Stefan, Mads and Jackie have been refining their raw retro-soul. Their debut single was released on the Danish label Crunchy Frog in 2015, and the quintet has since grown into an octet. In the following year they were named "Beste neue Band" at the Scandinavian Soul Music Awards for the EP "Do The Right Thing".

Two further albums followed, and for the newest, "Heavy" from 2022, the band worked with Wayne Gordon, Simon Guzmán, Jesper "Yebo" Reginal and Ki. Bootsy Collins described the album: "D/troit ist straff, energiegeladen, auf Steroiden und Quaaludes. Was für ein tolles Gefühl, das man den Leuten ins Ohr zaubern kann.

" Their music has appeared in the soundtracks of several Netflix and HBO shows, and they have performed on Rockpalast TV in Germany. Moritzbastei Leipzig is located at Kurt-Masur-Platz 1, 04109 Leipzig. Built in the middle of the 16th century as part of the Leipzig city wall, it is the only surviving section of the old fortifications.

In the 1970s students revived the bastion, and it has since been a centre for cultural exchange, creativity and community life. During the day a café and beer garden are open; at night the vaulted cellars host music, theatre and parties. Concerts range from rock, pop and indie to jazz and classical and experimental sounds.
