Muscle Shoals Sound Studio, founded in 1969 by the legendary session musicians known as the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section—or "The Swampers"—is a cornerstone of American music history. Located in Sheffield, Alabama, this studio emerged after the rhythm section left FAME Studios to create their own facility, quickly attracting iconic artists from across the United States and Great Britain.
