Matthew Alec and The Soul Electric are a jazz fusion supergroup from Cleveland, bringing old school swagger to a blend of jazz, pop, and funk. Recently nominated for Cleveland's 'best jazz' for the second year running, the band is led by saxophonist Matthew Alec, who was ranked No. 19 in All About Jazz's 2024 readers' poll for Favorite Living Jazz Saxophonists.

The ensemble features a talented lineup: Matthew Alec on tenor saxophone and EWI, Greg Banaszak on alto saxophone, Brian Woods on keyboards and vocals, Corey Conway on guitar and vocals, Miguel Tarin Torres on bass, Drew Parent on percussion, and The Franchise on drums. With four albums to their name, including the critically-acclaimed debut 'Cleveland Time' featuring trombone legend Tom 'Bones' Malone, the group delivers energetic live performances that blend improvisation and groove.
