Fiorella Mannoia is an Italian singer-songwriter born 4 April 1954 in Rome, regarded as one of the leading voices in Italian popular music since the late 1960s. She first appeared at the Castrocaro Music Festival in 1968 at age fourteen, performing a song by Adriano Celentano, and soon signed her first record contract with Carisch. Before establishing her music career she worked as a film stunt double alongside her siblings, appearing in productions from 1968 onward.
Her music spans pop and soul, shaped by songwriting collaborations with prominent Italian and international composers. She won the Critics' Prize at the Sanremo Music Festival in both 1987 and 1988, and has received the Targa Tenco award five times, more than any other performer in that category. Her 1999 album Certe piccole voci reached platinum status, and in 2005 she was made an Officer of Italy's Order of Merit.
