Masego, born Micah Davis on June 8, 1993, in Kingston, Jamaica, is a Jamaican-American singer, multi-instrumentalist and producer known for blending the saxophone into R&B, jazz and hip-hop production. He took the stage name Masego, a Setswana word tied to his church name meaning "blessing," while in high school, and attended Woodside High School in Newport News, Virginia, before studying at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, which he left to pursue music full-time.
He gained wide recognition for "Tadow," a 2017 collaboration with French producer FKJ, before releasing his debut studio album, Lady Lady, in 2018. He has continued to release music that mixes live saxophone playing with electronic and soul influences, a style he has described as "trap house jazz."
