Ricky Martin began performing as a child, joining the Puerto Rican boy band Menudo at twelve before launching a solo career in 1991. He became a global star with the 1999 single 'Livin' la Vida Loca', which topped the Billboard Hot 100 for five weeks, and the self-titled English-language album that debuted at number one.
