About Washington Mystics
After going 3-27 in their inaugural season and cycling through ten coaches in their first eleven years, the franchise's fortunes turned with the 2017 acquisition of two-time MVP Elena Delle Donne. The Mystics reached the WNBA Finals for the first time in 2018 and won their first and only championship the following year, defeating the Connecticut Sun three games to two.
The team plays home games at CareFirst Arena in the Congress Heights neighborhood of Washington, D.C.; the 4,200-seat venue has been the league's smallest since 2019. The Mystics have made the playoffs in 13 of their 27 seasons.
