Salzburg Christkindlmarkt 2026 at Dom- und Residenzplatz

The Salzburg Christmas Market takes place on the Dom- and Residenzplatz from 19.11.2026 to 01.01.2027. It is held in the centre of Salzburg's World Heritage Old Town. The Christkindlmarkt has existed in its current form since 1974, and its traditional huts and specially designed "starry sky" lighting give it its appearance.

Almost a million visitors from all over the world come to the market year after year. Stallholders offer handcrafted items made from wood, metal or textiles, toys, treats from the region and other goods from the range on offer. Long-standing exhibitors from Salzburg and the surrounding area take part.

Thomas Feldbacher says: "Our wooden games are largely manufactured by hand or using conventional woodworking machines. "
