Jeanne d'Arc by the Glen Lambrecht Ballet in Ghent

Jeanne d'Arc by the Glen Lambrecht Ballet is a new contemporary choreographic production at Capitole Gent in Ghent on 1 December 2026, 20:00. It is a world premiere performed by the Glen Lambrecht Ballet. The work reimagines the story of Jeanne d'Arc through memory, inner visions and historical tragedy.

The performance opens in Rouen in 1431, where Jeanne awaits her fate imprisoned in her cell. Fragments of her life then resurface: her childhood in Domrémy, the appearance of the Voice that guides her, and the birth of a conviction that will change history. She meets the Dauphin Charles and persuades the court to entrust her with an army.

The story moves from the court of Chinon to the battles of Orléans and on to the coronation of Charles VII in Reims. Jeanne is then captured in Compiègne and handed over to her enemies, and she faces a trial in which she must resist, renounce, or remain faithful to her mission. Battles, royal ceremonies and mystical visions unfold through choreography and an immersive staging.
