Northern Germany's largest funfair brings around 200 rides and a Friday-night fireworks show to the Heiligengeistfeld.

Winterdom is the last of Hamburg's three annual Dom festivals, and by far the biggest funfair in northern Germany, filling the Heiligengeistfeld from Friday 6 November through Sunday 6 December 2026. The fair mixes big-ticket rides and roller coasters with old-fashioned carnival stalls, and its food stands draw as much attention as the rides: currywurst, sauerkraut, roasted almonds and the fairground doughnut Schmalzkuchen all sell by the thousand across the month-long run. Hamburgers treat Winterdom as a fixture of the pre-Christmas calendar rather than a one-off event, and its length means it can absorb far larger crowds than a typical weekend festival without ever feeling as packed as the shorter Frühlingsdom and Sommerdom editions earlier in the year.
