Robert Schumann was a composer and writer, born in 1810 in Zwickau and died in 1856 in the Nervenheilanstalt Bonn-Endenich, 46 years of life. The piece asks how it looked inside this person and how he perceived the world, and what speaks from his texts and his music. It also asks what happens when his music materialises on stage in the form of figures: a play with identities, premonitions of another self, encounters with fantasy beings, spuk figures and doppelgängers.

From a Hammond organ M3, texts from Schumann's diary, figures and automatons, a kaleidoscope of interweaving motifs emerges, standing on their own and complementing one another to form a Zusammenklang. The Hamburger Puppentheater in the Haus Flachsland shows guest performances from Hamburg and the surrounding area as well as from all over Germany. Its programme ranges from Marionettentheater to Schattenspiel, from Tischpuppen to Klappmaulfiguren, for children or adults.
