Overview
Chano Domínguez is a listed event at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea CondeDuque in Madrid, sourced from the official open-data cultural agenda. 24 euros. Check the link for the latest schedule and ticket details.
Pianist Chano Domínguez presents a unique live accompaniment to the 1967 film "El amor brujo" by Francisco Rovira Beleta, based on Manuel de Falla's beloved work. After over 40 years of career, this is the first time Domínguez performs behind the piano to complement a film's scenes, creating a new sonic narrative.
The project, commissioned by the Filmoteca de la Generalitat de Catalunya, features over fifteen newly created musical interludes that interact with the film. Domínguez draws inspiration from the original Falla score and his childhood memories of Cádiz, where the film was shot, resulting in evocative and powerful sound impressions.
This reimagined screening offers a fresh perspective on a classic of Spanish cinema, blending Domínguez's signature flamenco-jazz style with the film's original soundtrack. The performance takes place at Centro de Cultura Contemporánea Conde Duque in Madrid.
