Drakhshan Ali: Mom! Are they Toys or Apples? is a listening event based on the book "Mom! Are they Toys Or Apples?", held at Helsinki Central Library Oodi in Helsinki on 23 October 2026, 17:00. The book is presented as a historical narrative document of unheard voices. It concerns Kurdish children and civilians in the villages of Kurdistan who became victims of atrocities by the former dictator regime of Iraq in April 1987, when they were poisoned to death by chemical weapons.
