HIAP Open Studios at Gallery Augusta HIAP, Helsinki

HIAP Open Studios is an open-studios event held on Saturday, 31 October 2026, from 15:00 to 20:00 at Gallery Augusta HIAP in Helsinki. It takes place at HIAP Gallery Augusta (Suomenlinna B28) and HIAP Studios (Suomenlinna B44-45), and entry is free. The event is held at the end of a residency season and gives visitors the chance to meet the resident artists and curators, learn about their practice and see work they are developing.

This season's event coincides with Viaporin Kekri, and Kekri is an ancient Finnish and Karelian autumn harvest festival that marks the end of the working year. The participating artists are Esme Allman, Luísa Leão, Martina Miño Pérez, Marlene Leonie Posch, Laura Purcell, GO.RA, Haruka Saito, Jean-Lorin Sterian and Lucas Selezio de Souza. The programme starts with a 60-minute tour in English from 15:15 to 16:15, with short introductions by the residents; it meets at HIAP Gallery Augusta.

From 16:15 to 19:15, Jean-Lorin Sterian presents the one-to-one performance The Artist Is Not Here at HIAP Studios, in 15-minute sessions for one person each, first come, first served, in English. Esme Allman gives a poetry reading, Interloper/Suomenlinna, a work-in-progress, at 16:30 and 18:30 in the HIAP main building.

It lasts 15 minutes, is in English and is limited to 25 people. Laura Purcell gives a 10-minute presentation in English at HIAP Studios at 17:00, 18:00 and 19:00, for up to 10 people.
