About Derby
Derby is an English East Midlands city built on engineering, home to Rolls-Royce's aero-engine works and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site, whose 1717 Silk Mill is often cited as the first factory. Its compact centre pairs a Cathedral Quarter of shops with the Museum of Making in that same mill.
