Jonathan Swift Festival: Gulliver’s Travels Gala Dinner at St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, on 19 November 2026 at 20:00. Four courses inspired by Gulliver's voyages, tickets €89.
The Jonathan Swift Festival: Gulliver’s Travels Gala Dinner is a four-course gala dinner at St Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin on 19 November 2026, starting at 20:00. It marks the 300th anniversary of Gulliver’s Travels, and each course is inspired by one of the lands Gulliver visits: Lilliput, Brobdingnag, Laputa and the land of the Houyhnhnms. The evening opens with a welcome drink.
The Lilliput course features creamy white onion, crisp fried ginger and micro coriander cress with a miniature brioche loaf. The Brobdingnag course is slow-braised beef short rib in a red wine reduction, served as a sharing feast with baby carrots, parsnips and baked baby potatoes. Laputa is a citrus sorbet with aerated raspberries and a meringue cloud.
The Houyhnhnms course is a shortbread bar layered with salted white miso caramel and Piedmont hazelnut praline, with yuzu gel and an edible flower. The dinner combines fine dining with music, storytelling and theatrical touches, and the Saint Patrick’s Cathedral Choir performs during the evening.
The event takes place in the cathedral where Jonathan Swift served as Dean and where he is buried. Tickets cost €89.
It starts at 20:00 on 19 November 2026.
