Perspectives - Council: Pekka Kuusisto & Gabriel Kahane is an evening of songs and chamber music at the National Concert Hall in Dublin on 8 November 2026, starting at 20:30 in The Studio. Pekka Kuusisto and Gabriel Kahane have formalized their collaboration under the name Council after nearly a decade of musical friendship. The material was written during several writing retreats in Northern Karelia and Portland, Oregon.
The songs deal with individual and collective grief, nostalgia, adolescence and memory-play, and with fatherhood in an era of global instability. The programme also includes original music by Council and traditional Scandinavian folk music. Kuusisto plays violin, voice, harmonium, four-string electric guitar, loops and electronics, while Kahane plays piano, voice, electric and acoustic guitars, harmonium and loops.
The event is presented by NCH. Tickets cost €25.00.
