The Blue Trail (O Último Azul) screens at Pavilion Theatre in Dublin on 30 November 2026, as part of Monday Night Cinema, at 17:00 and 20:00. The film is by Brazilian filmmaker Gabriel Mascaro, whose earlier work includes Neon Bull and Divine Love. It is set in the near future, when the Brazilian government has created colonies where older people are sent to live out their last few years.
Teresa, who is 77, refuses that fate and is determined to fly in an airplane. After breaking free from the authorities, she travels by boat down the Amazon river to find a willing pilot. The film is in Portuguese with English subtitles and carries a Cert 15A rating.
It won the Silver Bear at the Berlin International Film Festival 2025. Tickets cost €10 or €9, plus a booking fee.
