Variations: Bach in jazz, swing and stride piano

Variations takes place on Tuesday 17 November at 7:30 pm at Teatru Manoel, on the Main Stage. The programme is The Blueberg Variations, arranged by pianist and composer Simon Parkin, which reworks Bach's Goldberg Variations in the styles of jazz, swing, blues and stride piano. The arrangement sets Bach's counterpoint in a modern rhythmic language, combining Baroque structure with jazz harmonies, and moves from the reflective opening Aria to the energetic Quodlibet.

It is performed on piano by Joanne Camilleri and Gabi Sultana. Admission is for ages 6 and over.
