The 2027 edition is the 41st and runs from 13 to 16 January 2027. ESNS was founded in Groningen in 1986 and marked its 40th anniversary in 2026.

Eurosonic covers the first three days, 13 to 15 January, with acts from across Europe playing venues around the city. The first 42 names were announced in September and were selected together with 28 radio stations that belong to the European Broadcasting Union (EBU); the acts together represent 31 European countries.

The selection follows a record number of applications, with entries closing on 1 September. The first batch includes Aaron Rowe, Bleech 9:3, Gildaa, Gwenifer Raymond, HVNDS, Ida The Young, Isabel van Gelder, Little Grandad, MICHA, Olga Myko, Osayuki, panicbaby, Pigeon and TeddyBear.

On the opening day ESNS moves into the city centre of Groningen. De Oosterpoort hosts a new programme reserved for delegates and aimed at music professionals, while Eurosonic returns to venues in the city centre, where ESNS and its media partners present emerging acts to the public and to professionals.

Noorderslag closes the festival on 16 January in De Oosterpoort and is devoted to pop music from the Netherlands, mixing new talent with established names. The first eleven names announced include Elmer, Milolaathetlukken, Mula, RADIO Z and Hondenfokker. During Noorderslag the Popprijs is presented to the artist who made the most important contribution to pop music from the Netherlands in the past year.

Ireland is the focus country of ESNS 2027. Together with the music organisation First Music Contact and the radio station RTÉ 2FM as media partner, ESNS is putting together a programme that celebrates music from Ireland in Groningen from 13 to 16 January.

Ticket sales for Eurosonic and Noorderslag started on 25 September. A Delegate Pass also covers the conference and the delegates-only programme in De Oosterpoort on the opening day. Ticket prices range from €55,00 for the first Eurosonic day to €207,50 for an ESNS Passe-Partout covering all Eurosonic days plus Noorderslag.

Is there an age limit?

There is no age limit at the festival, but visitors under 16 may only attend with a parent or guardian.

What time do the doors open at Noorderslag, and can I leave and come back?

The doors of Noorderslag open at 15:00; you can enter with your e-ticket or the wristband from the previous days. Once inside it is not possible to leave and re-enter. Noorderslag is card-only (pin only).

Are the venues wheelchair accessible?

All Eurosonic venues are wheelchair accessible except MXT Main, MXT Front and USVA. The whole Oosterpoort, where Noorderslag takes place, is wheelchair accessible.
