WorldPride Amsterdam 2026

From 25 July to 8 August 2026, Amsterdam hosts WorldPride — a 15-day global LGBTQIA+ celebration awarded to a different city every few years, and 2026 is Amsterdam's turn. The programme folds the city's traditional Pride events into a much larger international occasion, with more than 300 activities across the two-plus weeks, most of them free and open to everyone.

Highlights include the opening Pride Walk and Pride Park (25 July), the world-famous Canal Parade on 1 August, an Open Air Film Festival (29–30 July), street parties across more than a dozen city venues (31 July–2 August), a Human Rights Conference (5–7 August), the free WorldPride Village (5–8 August), and the closing WorldPride March on 8 August. Ticketed marquee events — the Unity Concert, Closing Concert and Wedding Party XXL — are sold via the official Weeztix platform.

Why this matters: Amsterdam is marking 25 years since it became the first city in the world to legalise same-sex marriage in 2001, and WorldPride puts that history on a global stage. Expect the city — canals, squares, museums and nightlife — to lean fully into the celebration for the entire fortnight, with rainbow flags, exhibitions and partner programming well beyond the ticketed events.

Practical notes for visitors: because this is a global-scale event layered onto a compact city, book accommodation as early as possible — Amsterdam hotels fill up fast for WorldPride weekends, especially around the Canal Parade on 1 August. Most events are free, so a WorldPride trip doesn't require pre-purchased tickets except for the named ticketed concerts and the conference. Amsterdam's public transport (trams, buses, metro) is the easiest way to move between venues; expect some street closures near parade routes and central squares.
