Ciclo 'Lembra-se de… ?'

This film cycle at Cinema Nimas celebrates the on-screen partnership of Joanne Woodward and Lee Remick, two actresses who first crossed paths in Martin Ritt's 1958 film *The Long, Hot Summer*. That movie also marked the beginning of Woodward's real-life romance with Paul Newman, whom she married that same year, and who would later direct her in several acclaimed films.

Highlights of the programme include Newman's directorial debut *Rachel, Rachel* (1968), *The Effect of Gamma Rays on Man-in-the-Moon Marigolds* (1972) — for which Woodward won the Best Actress award at Cannes — and *The Glass Menagerie* (1987), an adaptation of Tennessee Williams. Each screening offers a chance to see two of Hollywood's most gifted performers at work.
